WeRPN has developed a series of online learning programs to support RPN professional development. By participating in these online courses, RPNs can enhance their understanding of key topics ranging from leadership to role clarity to patient-centred care. These courses provide online asynchronous learning - facilitators provide all reading materials, activities and assignments that can be accessed at any time each week. Leadership 1: Developing Your Leadership
Developing Your Leadership ~ An 8-week online course on the key theories of communication, problem-solving, change and influencing management, and conflict resolution, to develop personal and professional leadership skills at the individual RPN level. (2021 course start dates: January 18th, April 12th and September 13th.)
Leadership 2: Influencing Change in Healthcare
Influencing Change in Healthcare ~ An 8-week online course that provides learners with tools so that you are able to influence the decisions and policies that are most important to nurses and the people you care for. (2021 course start dates: January 18th, April 12th and September 13th.)
Leadership 3: Championing Patient Centered Care
Championing Patient Centered Care ~ Over this 8 week online course, you will gain a critical examination on the role of practical nurses in patient centered care at the system and individual level. (2021 course start dates: January 18th, April 12th and September 13th.)
Leadership 4: Optimizing RPNs to Full Scope
Optimizing RPN Scope of Practice ~ An 8-week online QA-accredited course designed to support appropriate utilization of RPNs working to full scope of practice. (2021 course start dates: January 18th, April 12th and September 13th.)
IPAC - Infection Prevention and Control
An 9-week online course. The Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) program will provide learners in clinical settings with an understanding of the foundational elements of IPAC that includes the modes of vector transmission, infectious disease processes, routine practices for IPAC, epidemiology investigation and surveillance, epidemiology of healthcare-acquired infections, management of IPAC and outbreak control in the clinical setting.
