The Federal government is proposing changes to the Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) Legislation through Bill C-7. The Bill is currently being reviewed at the Senate.

Bill 84 Proposed Provincial Legislation (Royal Assent May 10, 2017)
The new legislation enhances legal protection for health care providers, patients and organizations in addition to clarifying the coroner role.
Care Coordination Service
The MOHLTC established a care coordination service on May 31, 2017. In addition to accessing information about MAiD, patients and clinicians can access information/supports for other end-of-life options, such as hospice and palliative care. The care coordination service can also assist patient and care providers with a connection to a MD or NP that can provide MAiD.
