Building Confidence in Care and Communication – An Overview of Dementia
This interactive Dementia Overview webinar is designed for Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) who support people living with dementia. With over 352,000 Ontarians affected, the session provides essential knowledge on normal vs. abnormal aging, reversible causes of memory loss, common types of dementia, progression, and key symptoms to watch for. Participants will also learn practical communication tips to improve interactions, and support dignity and connection.
The session includes opportunities for questions, discussion, and helpful resources, along with an introduction to Alzheimer Society programs and services. By the end, RPNs will leave with increased confidence, stronger communication skills, and a clearer understanding of dementia.
