The Federal government is proposing changes to the Medical Assistance in Dying (MAID) Legislation through Bill C-7. The Bill is currently being reviewed at the Senate.

The new legislation enhances legal protection for health care providers, patients and organizations in addition to clarifying the coroner role. - Care Coordination Service
The MOHLTC established a care coordination service on May 31, 2017. In addition to accessing information about MAiD, patients and clinicians can access information/supports for other end-of-life options, such as hospice and palliative care. The care coordination service can also assist patient and care providers with a connection to a MD or NP that can provide MAiD.
