Ambassador Role Description

  • Act as a key liaison between WeRPN and your workplace colleagues or classmates to keep them informed about key updates and initiatives
  • Become familiar with WeRPN’s vision, mission, values, strategic plan, benefits, key activities and educational supports
  • Represent WeRPN and its benefits and offerings to your workplace colleagues or classmates in a positive manner
  • Inform and educate your workplace colleagues or classmates of WeRPN’s offerings via one-on-one and/or group interactions
  • Promote WeRPN through personal social media accounts (as per WeRPN guidelines)

Professional Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) with College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Practical Nursing student
  • Active membership with WeRPN

 Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; confident in engaging others in conversation; passion for growing relationships with workplace colleagues or classmates of different backgrounds
  • Portray a high level of professionalism while dealing with workplace colleagues or classmates
  • Must show high levels of credibility at all times
  • Possess good leadership skills to be able to set a proper example for your workplace colleagues or classmates
  • Pose a positive attitude regarding the role of RPNs
  • Willingness to learn
  • Nice to have: Social media savvy; have a well-established online (social media) presence; strong working knowledge of the CNO standard on the 6Ps of social media

Commitment

  • WeRPN membership term: One year (July 1 to June 30)
  • Approximately one hour per month

Role Training and Preparation

  • Review WeRPN materials
  • Review online orientation module
