*We are pleased to offer grants to WeRPN members who wrote their CNA Gerontology exams in November 2019 and have successfully obtained the new Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Practical Nurses Gerontology Specialty Certification (GSC).

Important dates:

Spring Applications: Jan. 9 – March 2
Exams: May 1 – June 15

Fall Applications: June 1 – Sept. 10
Exams: Nov. 1 – Dec. 15


WeRPN Members who took Gerontology certification in November 2019 may be eligible to receive a maximum of $365 in exam fee reimbursement

WeRPN Members: $365
WeRPN Members with CNA Membership: $150 **

**Variation based on equitable exam fee reimbursement – WeRPN members with CNA membership receive an additional CNA member’s discount

Eligibility

To be eligible for funding, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants must be currently registered to practice with the College of Nurses of Ontario and a full year regular member of WeRPN at the time of the exam
  • Applicants must have written the exam in November 2019
  • Supporting documentation: Proof of Exam Fee Payment & Proof of Successful Completion of Gerontology Specialty Certification Exam
  • GSC Grant Applications with supporting documentation must be received within 90 days of receipt of results

*Recipients of funding from the WeRPN 2019 GSC Grant will be issued T4A tax information in accordance with the Income Tax Act. The total amount of the grant received is subject to income tax.

The form can be uploaded to RPN Connect or can be completed directly online with the required proof of successful completion and proof of payment.

Applications will only be accepted through online submission. Applications will be accepted beginning November 1, 2019.
