WeRPN joins our health care partners in urging the government to exempt health care workers from Bill 124.
For the past 18 months, Ontario Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) and their colleagues in frontline care have been working tirelessly in the province’s fight against COVID-19, often at a tremendous personal toll. Now, more than ever, is the time to make sure these dedicated professionals are recognized and rewarded for the invaluable work they do. Instead, Bill 124 places a cap on wages, limiting nurses’ ability to bargain.
The government has often called Ontario’s nurses “healthcare heroes” throughout this pandemic. We strongly urge them to exempt health care workers from Bill 124 so that they can receive the compensation they deserve.
