WeRPN supports Bill 13- A Time to Care Act

by WeRPN

WeRPN is pleased to see members of the Legislative Assembly support improved care for long-term care residents by voting in favour of Bill 13- A Time to Care Act on October 29th. We thank MPP Teresa Armstrong for introducing this important private members bill that aims to establish a minimum standard of care for residents in Ontario's long-term care system.

As the voice of RPNs who provide the majority of nursing care in Ontario’s LTC facilities, WeRPN has been calling for an increase in the minimum hours of care provided to LTC residents. We are glad to see all parties recognize the importance of enhancing resident care.

Bill 13 is now moving on to committee for further discussion and debate. We urge continued support from all parties in order to bring about meaningful enhancements to resident care.
