Lighting the Pathway to Leadership DAY
RPNs informed us that they would like more opportunities to utilize their knowledge, skills and judgement in leadership roles. WePRN set out to provide RPNs with this special event early this spring to support RPNs in the province to development and explore roles in leadership. This day provided participants with:

The day was held on March 26th 2018 with 100 RPNs from across Ontario taking part in two streams of Leadership
Shining the Light on LTC Leadership
This session provided the opportunity for nurses and nursing leaders to learn more about the quantitative and qualitative data that identified the issues and impact on staff and provides future implications for practice, policy, education, leadership and research.
Igniting the Leadership Spark
Facilitated by Career Directions© Workshop (Mary Wheeler, RN, MEd, Certified Ontological Coach)
This workshop was designed for RPNs who have identified a career goal of finding a formal leadership opportunity. Using the Career Directions© program and additional career coaching support, interested participants will be provided an excellent opportunity to start their career plan. By the end of the workshop each participants will have developed a strategic career plan and is now being followed up with a one hour group coaching follow-up session co-facilitated by the WeRPN Career Advisor Norma Tomlin RPN and Mary Wheeler. The WeRPN Professional Practice Associates will also continue to support the participants as they work towards achieving their career goals.
